The device has a sound dampening partition (7) arranged between an external lateral wall of a front fender and a foot (6) of a body (2). The partition is provided on a side of a sound dampening shell (10) integrated with the partition by covering the partition in a manner to define a sealed and closed inner space. The space between the shell and the partition is filled with air, where the shell is fixed to the partition by sticking. An independent claim is also included for a sound attenuating partition intended to close a space between a front lateral blade of a vehicle and a bodywork carrier structure.
