An energy absorbing apparatus of seat belt retractor is provided to remove the residual pressure of pretensioner and prevent the separation of spool assembly of which shear pin is sectioned. An energy absorbing apparatus of seat belt retractor comprises: a spool(11); a shear pin(13) forming in the spool; a torsion shaft(12) inside the spool; and a base lock(14) in which a shear pin is connected. One or more shear pin which is formed in a constant interval on one side of the spool, one or more base lock hole(17) which is formed on a base lock, and the shear pin connected to one or more sleeve holes are broken successively during operating load limiter of pretensioner.
