A method and a system for processing character data inputted through a touch screen are provided to process characters inputted in the touch screen as character data of an intrinsic form, thereby largely reducing the amount of transmission or storage data. A character data generation module(160) generates character data storing x and y coordinates of points configuring each stroke stored in a coordinate data buffer(150) together with a number counted by a counting module about all strokes configuring a character. The x and y coordinates of the points configuring a corresponding stroke about each stroke are successively stored from a start point to an end point or from the end point to the start point in the character data.
