USER INTERFACE METHOD AND SET-TOP BOX FOR IPTV SERVICE

A user interface method for an IPTV(Internet Protocol TV) and an STB(Set-Top Box) thereof are provided to induce interest by displaying thumbnail moving picture information of the selected contents in a preview style. A network interface unit(110) receives thumbnail moving picture information of contents by communicating with an external server. A data processing module(120) encodes or decodes the thumbnail moving picture information. An input signal receiving module(130) receives and processes an input signal according to user operation. A control module(140) stores data processed in the data processing module in a database. The control module parses and transfers the thumbnail moving picture information of the contents to an output module(160) when the contents are selected through the input signal receiving module.
