摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely ignite fuel by an ignition plug regardless of rotational fluctuation when starting an engine by stratified-charge combustion. SOLUTION: A target ignition timing Tign1 for igniting the fuel injected during a compression stroke is set as an ignition timing when starting the engine. It is determined whether or not the target ignition timing Tign is within an ignitable range PRD determined in regard to a time period t elapsed after the fuel injection. The target ignition timing Tign is selected as a final ignition timing when it is within the ignitable range PRD. An ignition timing Ta or Tb is selected as the final ignition timing when the target ignition timing Tign is out of the ignitable range PRD. A command signal for actuating the ignition plug at the selected final ignition timing Tign1, Ta or Tb is output to the ignition plug, thereby performing ignition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
