The arm has a transfer cylinder (3) assigned to a gripper system gripping a rear edge of sheets (5). A conveying system has a format drum (2), and the transfer cylinder is horizontally movable to a format position. The gripper system working together with the transfer cylinder is designed as a circulating belt or a cam controlled gripper system for gripping the rear edge of the sheets. The griper system is drivable by the transfer cylinder. The conveying system has two sheet guiding cylinders that are arranged before the format drum.
