CONTAINER STERILIZING APPARATUS

This aims to provide a container sterilizing apparatus, in which an irradiated section (A) to be irradiated with an electron beam from the planar irradiation face (12a) of an electron beam irradiating device is provided with regions (B and D) where one face of a rectangular resin bottle (8) moves in parallel with the irradiation face (12a). Grippers are mounted circumferentially equidistantly on the outer circumference portions of a rotor (14), so that they hold and transfer the neck portions of the resin bottles (8) are held and transferred. The container sterilizing apparatus comprises rotating means for rotating the grippers with respect to the rotor (14), and forward/backward moving means for keeping the distance constant from the irradiation face (12a) of the electron-beam irradiating device. In the irradiated section (A) of the electron beam, the grippers are rotated by the rotating means, so that the rectangular resin bottle (8) is moved while keeping its one face parallel to the planar irradiation face (12a).
