<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which forms an image by stably using a cleaning blade and an image bearing member for an extended period of time, even when a toner having small particle diameter is used, and even when a lubricant is applied to all over the surface of the image bearing member, and the amount of toner passing through a cleaning device increases, while avoiding the attachment of the toner to the lubricant. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the image bearing member, a charging device, an exposure device, a developing device to develop a formed latent image with toner, a transfer device, a lubricant application device to apply a lubricant to the surface of the image bearing member, and the cleaning device to clean the surface of the image bearing member, wherein the toner has a BET specific surface area per toner volume average particle diameter in the range of 0.3-1.7, and particulates comprising resin particulates and inorganic particulates are added to the toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
