PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting element which makes an electron injection easy, whereby, not only a power consumption due to voltage drop reduces, but improves a driving voltage, a light emitting efficiency, and a life characteristics. SOLUTION: The organic light-emitting element has an electron transfer layer which contains an electron transfer substance and a metal compound shown in the following chemical formula 1. In the chemical formula 1, X<SB>a</SB>Y<SB>b</SB>, X is an alkali metal, alkali earth metal, or transition metal, and Y is a group VII element or C1-C20 organic group. The a is an integer, 1 to 3, and the b is an integer, 1 to 3. Thereby, the organic light-emitting element is significantly improved in ability of electron injection without forming an electron injection layer using a new material to form an electron transfer layer. Then, as compared with using a usual electron transfer material, not only a current efficiency and power efficiency elevate, but the driving voltage and life characteristic are improved by adjusting a balance of a charge injected into the light emitting layer.
