<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collagenase having high collagenolytic activity under an alkali condition. <P>SOLUTION: The new collagenase has the following physicochemical properties: (1) action: degrading proteins of casein, gelatin, collagen, keratin and elastin, and exhibiting especially strong degrading actions on the collagen and the gelatin, and further exhibiting activity on AIPM, AAPF, AAPM, AAPL and AAVA of synthetic substrates, but not exhibiting activity on AAPV and GPLGP; (2) optimum reaction pH: pH8.5-9.0; (3) optimum reaction temperature: 40-50°C, and exhibiting stable enzymic activity up to 45°C; and (4) molecular weight: 50,000-70,000. The collagenase has a specific amino acid sequence, or an amino acid sequence in which one or more amino acids are deleted, substituted or added from, with or to the sequence. The collagenase exhibits high degradation activity especially on the collagen and the gelatin under an alkali condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
