<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor integrated circuit, a secret protection method in the semiconductor integrated circuit which can protect a circuit configuration and secrecy of a program, and to provide a secret protection program, and a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: In an ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) 1, function modules M1 to Mn-1 which do not require secrecy as registers are provided only with a group of registers accessible to a group of externally accessible registers, but a function module Mn requiring secrecy is provided with a group RBn of externally inaccessible registers to which the function module Mn directly refers and an access to which is impossible from outside and a group RAn of externally accessible registers, and a copy control unit CSn is provided between the registers RAn and RBn.
