PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth a mesh by arbitrarily controlling the order (or the number of nodes) of an approximate curved line approximating a correction mesh. SOLUTION: Mesh data is read and the mesh to be corrected is determined (104). Then, the maximum-order approximate curved line is calculated based on the node string of the mesh to be corrected (105). Subsequently, the order of the approximate curved line is repetitively reduced till a mesh quality threshold is satisfied, so as to generate and preserve the approximate curved line (106, 108). Then, on the approximate curved line, the nodes are generated by utilizing that the curved line is more smoothed as the number of the nodes to be used on the approximate curved line is smaller.
