<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide silica particles giving a hardened article having high transparency, low permeability to corrosive gases and an excellent covering protection property when mixed with a silicone composition and a silicone composition mixed with the silica particle suitable for sealing a light-emitting semiconductor device. <P>SOLUTION: The silica particles have, being grafted on its surface, an organopolysiloxane represented by general formula (1) at 4% or more to the mass of silica before treatment. In the formula, R<SP>1</SP>is mutually the same or a different kind of unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon radical having 1-10 carbon atoms, R<SP>2</SP>is methyl or ethyl, a is 1-50, b is 0 or 1, d is 0 or 1, c and e are integers of 0-10, and a+b+d is an integer of 3-52. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
