PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize speeding up of assay treatments in a micro-passage chip and improvement of the precision of assay treatments through a simple arrangement by applying, to the mixing treatment in the micro-passage chip, procedures of promoting mixture of target substances so as to achieve a homogeneous mixture state in a shorter time, in mixing at least two target substances including an analyte and a substance for a preliminary treatment or an assay reaction treatment. SOLUTION: Convection is caused efficiently in to-be-mixed substances between the first area 35A and the second area 35B by setting the temperature of the first temperature regulation means 21A of regulating the temperature of the first area 35A and the temperature of the second temperature regulation means 21B of regulating the temperature of the second area 35B, with the first and second areas 35A and 35B being adjacent to each other, to be different from each other by a controlling means 41, so as to cause convection efficiently in target substances between the first area 35A and the second area 35B.
