<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-viewpoint image creating system and method of automatically creating left and right outer images together with an intermediate position image from left and right binocular stereo images. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-viewpoint image creating system and method performs pattern matching between left and right stereo images, with one of them as reference, specifies matched image for each pixel, calculates an intermediate position image by interpolating an interpixel distance between matched images of each left and right pixel, and calculates a right outer image and a left outer image by extrapolating the interpixel distance between the matched image of each left and right pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
