<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet radiation light emitting diode with a structure in which a light emitting element and a reflection surface are arranged to be opposed to each other, capable of increasing reliability using an ultraviolet transparent glass or quartz glass substrate with high ultraviolet resistance as a window of the radiating surface to obtain excellent radiation properties without deteriorating light radiation characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting element is mounted on a circuit consisting of a lead frame provided on a quartz substrate. A gap between the light emitting element and a reflection surface is not filled by resin or the like and is kept to be void. By sealing the light emitting element and the reflection surface, a reflection type light emitting diode with high ultraviolet light resistance can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
