<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device capable of easily and smoothly selecting screen operation, thereby improving operability by reducing user's labor. <P>SOLUTION: The input device includes: an operation surface 3; first detection means 5, 6 for detecting the contact positions of fingers on the operation surface 3; a second detection means 7 for detecting the travel of the body of the input device 1; a third detection means 8 for detecting the press of the operation surface 3; an operation signal generation means 10 for generating an operation signal for prescribed operation to the screen; and a transmission means 11 for transmitting the generated operation signal to a display device.
