PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounted oscillator capable of preventing a protective resin from attaching to its external terminals and increasing its productivity. SOLUTION: In a surface-mounted crystal oscillator equipped with a crystal piece 2 placed and hermetically sealed on one main surface of a laminated ceramic container 1 which is rectangular in plan view and having a bottom wall 1a and a frame wall and an IC chip 3 having IC terminals in a recessed portion having external terminals 4 at four corner portions of the other main surface of the container 1 with its circuit functional surface fixed to the recessed portion, wherein the recessed portion of the other main surface is filled with a resin 9 for protecting the circuit functional surface of the IC chip 3, the frame wall 1c forming the recessed portion of the other main surface of the container 1 contains a notched part 11 extending from the inner periphery in the frame width direction at least in the intermediate area in the thickness of direction of the four corner portion.
