PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that SO<SB>4</SB>type hydrotalcite is limited in uses because it becomes coarse secondary particles since they are small in crystal sizes and strong in coagulation power. SOLUTION: A new synthetic method of reacting a hydroxide or an oxide of Mg etc. with a basic salt of Al etc., replacing a conventional coprecipitation method, is developed.
