PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of realizing miniaturization. SOLUTION: A transparent sheet member 18 for guiding the conveyance of a conveyance document D1 is detachably provided on a pressure plate unit 1 attached to a reading unit so as to be opened and closed, whereby the conveyance route of the conveyance document D1 is formed. Further, a discharging side guide member 19 is detachably provided to the pressure plate unit 1. In this case, the discharging side guide member 19 is attached after the transparent sheet member 18 is attached, whereby the generation of jam in the conveyance original by forgetting the inserting work of the tip end of the sheet member 18 into the discharging side guide member 19 is prevented.
