Method for operating a continuous flow steam generator and once-through steam generator

The method involves feeding a target value for a supply water mass flow to a device for adjusting the mass flow. The mass flow is predefined by a ratio of heat flow transferred in an evaporator heating surface (4) from a hot gas to a flow medium and a target enthalpy increase predefined with respect to a desired steam condition of the medium. The heat flow transferred from the gas to the medium is determined for specific temperature value characteristic of current temperature of the gas at an evaporator inlet and specific mass flow value characteristic for mass flow of the gas. An independent claim is also included for a forced-flow steam generator comprising an evaporator heating surface.
