The plate (10) has a frame forming a sealing, where a cell e.g. polymer electrolytic membrane (PEM)-type fuel cell, is surrounded by the frame. The frame is formed from a flexible material (38) that is reinforced by a reinforcement element (40). The sealing is designed as a circumferential sealing bead (42), and the reinforcement element is arranged in a region of the sealing bead. The reinforcement element includes a recess. The material is formed as electrical insulator. A supporting body is arranged on a side of the frame, where the side is turned away from the sealing.
