PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is difficult to discriminate each title in listing titles in the case that titles of video-recorded contents are long and similar to each other and furthermore, it is troublesome to change titles one by one when editing such titles while remaining feature portions. SOLUTION: A title of each of contents is decomposed into elements using a feature pattern. By comparing feature elements thus obtained of titles, a differential element and a common element of the title are specified. An abbreviated title constituted of the differential element is displayed in listing. In the case that a user edits the title of one of a plurality of contents, it is discriminated which element is subjected to editing by utilizing the elements, editing information is stored, and an editing candidate title is generated according to similar rules also for contents not subjected to editing operation, thereby simultaneously editing the titles.
