摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance absorption performance of collision energy, in particular, to increase an energy absorption amount in a latter stage of collision. SOLUTION: The whole of a crash box 100 is made to a cylindrical shape, and the crash box 100 has a cylinder part 102 arranged making a vehicle body longitudinal direction as an axial direction. In the cylinder part 102, one is made to a circular cross section 104 and the other is made a hexagonal cross section 106. a peripheral wall 110 of the cylinder part 102 has a flat surface part 110A narrowed as it is advanced from respective sides 106A of the hexagonal cross section 106 to the circular cross section 104 and converged at a converge point 104A. A curved part 110B constituting the peripheral wall 110 between the flat surface parts 110A is narrowed/converged as it is advanced from the circular cross section 104 to the hexagonal cross section 106. A ridgeline 110C becomes a curve that a curvature becomes large toward the converge point 104A as it is advanced to the circular cross section 104. Thereby, in the cylinder part 102, a cross section shape perpendicular to an axial direction is gradually varied from the circular shape to the hexagonal shape, and a cross section area perpendicular to the axial direction is gradually varied accompanying with this.
