PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper foil for a flexible printed wiring board which does not contain chromium represented by hexavalent chromium large in environmental load and has excellent adhesive strength with a base material. SOLUTION: The copper foil for the flexible printed wiring board includes: a copper foil 2; a nickel layer or nickel alloy layer 3 formed on a surface of the copper foil 2; a nickel oxide layer 4 formed on a surface of the nickel layer or nickel alloy layer 3; and a silane-coupling processed layer 5 formed on a surface of the nickel oxide layer 4.
