PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester conjugate short fiber using polyester having low melting point but excellent in crystallinity, thereby, when used as a binder fiber, treatable by thermobonding at a low temperature and giving products such as nonwoven fabric, which have good dimensional stability and are excellent in formation and quality. SOLUTION: A conjugate fiber comprises polyester A which comprises dicarboxylic acid component composed manly of terephthalic acid and diol component of≥50 mol% 1,6-hexanediol, contains 0.01-5.0 mass% nucleating agent and has 100-150°C melting point and whose DSC curve obtained from DSC and showing temperature-falling crystallization satisfies the following formula: b/a≥0.05(mW/mg×°C), and a polylactic acid-based polymer which has a melting point higher the melting point of the polyester A by 30°C or more, wherein the polyester A is arranged to occupy at least a part of the fiber surface in the cross section form of a single fiber and the fiber length is 1-100 mm.
