<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiency record coding streams on a recording medium, and to enable quick random access. <P>SOLUTION: Inputted transport streams are divided for each time unit having prescribed length, a packet of a channel in which recording is designated are collected from among packets included in the respective time units, and the packet is recorded on the recording medium without adding any dummy packet. In the packets of respective time units TU0, TU1, TU2, the top address time unit address of the recorded packet corresponds to, for example, the data length of the time unit TU0 expressed by a value obtained by subtracting a top address A(TU0) of the time unit TU0 from a top address A(TU1) of the time unit TU1 for recording on the recording medium as a time unit map. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
