<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable processed article usable as a food container which is excellent in water resistance and rigidity and a biodegradable composition required in producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: 15-75 mass% of starch, 5-50 mass% of protein, 3-50 mass% of cellulose fiber, 0.5-20 mass% of polyphenol and 0-5 mass% of sodium chloride are mixed together to give the respective contents as specified above. To 100 pts.mass of the resultant mixture, 10-100 pts.mass of water is added followed by well kneading by using, for example, a mixer. Next, the mixture is press-formed into a definite shape such as a cup or a dish and heated at 120-180°C.
