PURPOSE:To prevent the buckling, etc. of an opening side edge on its bent portion in the captioned seal body in which a welt portion installed on the opening side edge of an automobile body is integrally formed with a hollow seal portion by forming the hollow seal portion into a sectional form including an egg-shaped curve. CONSTITUTION:An automobile sealing body has a welt portion 6 with is installed on a body opening side edge of the opening/closing portion of the automobile and a hollow seal portion 8 which is projectingly provided thereon and which is elastically brought into contact with a door 7, a and is formed with a flexible rubber or a synthetic resin. In this case, the hollow seal portion 8 is formed into a sectional form including an egg-shaped curve C formed by connecting two circular arcs C1, C2 which have centers O1, O2 on a long axis (d) nearly in parallel to a reference line G drawn in the center of an inserting groove 9 installed on the opening side edge of the welt portion 6 and which have different radii r1, r2, by means of straight lines which are in contact with both arcs C1, C2 or arc-shaped tangential lines 10. Thereby, it can be prevented that the hollow seal portion 8 is abnormally displaced or buckled on its bent portion on the body opening side edge. |
