摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of reforming control and emission by executing reforming control at appropriate temperature according to properties of fuel. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 10 is provided with a fuel reforming catalyst 28 forming combustible gas from reformed fuel with using heat of exhaust gas. In the reforming control, combustible gas formed by action in the fuel reforming catalyst 28 is re-circulated to an intake system. ECU 50 variably sets lower temperature limit To for executing reforming control according to mix ratio of gasoline and ethanol in the reformed fuel. Injection of reformed gas is stopped when temperature T of the fuel reforming catalyst 28 is lower than the lower limit temperature To.
