PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology providing sufficient deceleration feeling when fuel cut control is started under a condition where EGR gas exists in an intake system of an internal combustion engine and inhibiting unstable combustion such as misfire when the fuel cut control is stopped to resume normal operation. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine is provided in which a prescribed amount of fuel is injected over a predetermined period until an air-fuel ratio sensor is activated when fuel cut control of the internal combustion engine is stopped to resume normal engine operation.
