Disclosed is a method for supplying data to a data processing device (100) by means of a web server (72) of a data carrier (10). In said method, the web server (72) of the data carrier (10) receives (1010) a data request message from the data processing device (100) that is connected to the data carrier (10), said data request message relating to the supplying of data to the data processing device (100). The web server (72) then replies (1030; 1260) to the data request message by transmitting a data supply message that comprises the requested data. In order to do so, the web server (72) reads the data from a non-volatile memory (62) of the data carrier or retrieves the data from a data supplying device (200) that is connected to the data carrier (10) if the data is not stored in the non-volatile memory (62). If the requested data is retrieved from the data supplying device (200), the data carrier (10) determines whether the retrieved data should be stored in the non-volatile memory (62) of the data carrier (10) in order to reply to future data request messages. |
