#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves generating a current signal depending upon value of electrical current for coating a band (1). An ideal current value is determined from an equalized current signal by equalized averaging. A differential signal is generated by forming a difference between the current signal and the ideal current value. The direct current components are eliminated from the differential signal.
