PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epi-illumination device providing coaxial illumination or inclined illumination, while simultaneously providing coaxial illumination and inclined illumination. SOLUTION: The epi-illumination device 9 to be mounted on an objective lens of a microscope 100 to illuminate a specimen includes: a mirror 25 set on the optical axis of the objective lens and arranged with an inclination to the optical axis; coaxial illumination light sources 22 and 23 emitting illuminating light to the specimen along the optical axis through the mirror; and at least one inclined illumination light source 24 emitting inclined illuminating light to the specimen.
