PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion state detecting device improved so as to peculiarly extract only target signal. SOLUTION: The combustion state detecting device comprises a signal detecting portion 3 detecting an ion current corresponding to an ion generated during combustion of mixture in a combustion chamber, a peak specifying portion ST5 specifying a peak position PK of a detection signal S(j) obtained from the signal detecting portion 3, a level converting portion ST6 converting the level of all detection signals before the peak position specified by the peak specifying portion into a level S(PK) of the detection signal at the peak position, a signal extracting portion ST6 obtaining an extracted signal SOUT(i) by performing digital filter processing on the detection signal SIN(i) after converted by the level converting portion, and a signal correcting portion ST7 correcting the extracted signal by an expression; SOUT(i)=SOUT(i)-äSIN(i-DLY)}OFT.
