PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the centering of a column and a diaphragm simultaneously with the assembling of diaphragm penetrating type box column for steel. SOLUTION: In this column core assembling apparatus, a vertical column 50 constituting a column core of a box column for a steel frame and a set of a wide upper diaphragm 52 and a lower diaphragm 51 which are joined to both ends of the column are previously aligned with each other before welding. The apparatus includes a bed, a plurality of guide rails placed on the top face of the bed radially round one point as a central point, and a plurality of sliding bodies provided to move in the direction of approaching and separating from the central point, wherein a diaphragm holding part and a column holding part are moved toward the central point by a moving means, and the column, the upper diaphragm and the lower diaphragm are moved by pressure equally from the periphery side, thereby aligning cores thereof with each other.
