PASTE FOR ELECTRODE OF FUEL CELL, MEMBRANE ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING PASTE FOR ELECTRODE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste for an electrode of a fuel cell capable of effectively utilizing a catalyst carried on carbon to electrode reaction and increasing the output of the fuel cell; and to provide a membrane electrode assembly and a method of manufacturing the paste for the electrode of the fuel cell.

SOLUTION: Catalyst carrying carbon is vacuum-dried, added with water, and mixed and stirred with a centrifugal stirrer which rotates while revolving. Air is forced to be expelled from the surface of the catalyst carrying carbon and a first intermediate filled with water in gaps of carbon powder is formed. The first intermediate is freeze-dried to make porous, a Nafion solution is added to the porous material and the paste for the electrode is obtained.
