<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent damage of an electrolyte membrane without applying excess load to it. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell system is equipped with a fuel gas introduction system introducing fuel gas into a fuel electrode of a fuel cell and a fuel gas exhaust system exhausting fuel gas from the fuel cell, and at starting, the fuel gas exhaust system is opened, then the fuel gas introduction system is opened, and then the fuel gas exhaust system is closed. Since the fuel gas exhaust system is opened before the fuel gas introduction system is opened, even if high instantaneous pressure at the beginning of the introduction of the fuel gas is applied to the fuel cell, the instantaneous pressure is released to the fuel gas exhaust system. Application of the excess load to the electrolyte membrane is prevented, damage of the electrolyte membrane can be surely prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
