摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an electrode structure which has no occurrence of gas closure even when the temperature of a fuel cell is low and which can prevent deterioration of output by suppressing drying of an electrolyte membrane even when a low humidification time continues for a long time or at an extremely low humidification time. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel cell, power is generated by supplying respectively a fuel gas and an oxidant gas from adjoining gas passages 5, 6 to an anode electrode 3 and a cathode electrode 4 interposing the both sides of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 2. The anode electrode 3 and the cathode electrode 4 are provided with catalyst layers 31, 41 and gas diffusion layers 32, 42 installed in contact with the surface of the electrolyte membrane 2. The gas diffusion layer 42 of the cathode electrode 4 has a water retaining/water repellent part mixed layer 44 in which a water retaining part 442 is formed in a water repellent part 441, and a conductive gas exchange restriction layer 7 is installed in a restriction region established beforehand on the entrance side of the oxidant gas passage 6 between the oxidant gas passage 6 and the gas diffusion layer 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
