MAGAZINE CONVERSION FOR A SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE

Apparatus for converting a semiautomatic rifle from use of a transverse, downward-extending ammunition magazine to use of a longitudinal ammunition magazine, comprising: a bolt assembly configured for recoil blowback operation; an upper receiver section of the rifle having said bolt assembly therein, wherein said upper receiver is configured to attach to the lower receiver section of said rifle using, for example, a pivot pin and a takedown pin; and a longitudinal ammunition magazine having a transfer section disposed at a first end thereof, and attached along the upper receiver such that rounds of ammunition are dispensed from said transfer section of said longitudinal ammunition magazine into the firing chamber of said rifle.
