For this at the beginning of the route, on the carrier, the location finder measures the bearing of the stationary emitter relative to the location finder carrier, then it moves from the initial point at an angle of "é" relative to the direction of the emitter, where "é" is the solution to the formula DR(T,)åÆmin, where DR(T,) - error variance of finding the range to the emitter at the moment T, where T - is time allotted for finding the range, - angle between the vector of the ground speed and direction to the emitter. During the process of movement the carrier continuously measures with the location finder the bearing of the emitter, the distance covered by the carrier is measured by the autonomous navigation system of the carrier, apart from this, at the moment when the movement of the location finder carrier t is equal to the allotted time T after summing the obtained measurements of the bearing of the emitter and the coordinates of the carrier the distance to the target is determined.
