The working parameters and standard parameters of a wind energy device (20) and a control software are transmitted to a computing unit (41). The deviation between the working and standard parameters is determined by the computing unit. The compatibility between the wind energy device and control software is determined by a logic module (42) by virtue of the determined deviation. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method for automatically updating control software of wind energy device; and (2) device for automatically determining compatibility between control software and wind energy devices.
