摘要 <p>The component (A), is e.g. an interceptor (5) for liquid leaving the bed. An extraction unit (B) e.g. the annular channel (6) and outlet (10), removes liquid from the column. All collector components are spaced (7) away from the column walls and at least one partition wall contained in the column. Alternatively at lest one interceptor is fitted to run around or along a segment of the confining wall above or in the collector (A), so that liquid running down the surface of the wall is received in it and bypassed. The interceptor is a channel extending around the entire circumference of the confining wall or at least over a segment of it. At least one interceptor is integrated into the collector. At least one interceptor is fitted below at least one packed bed and above all collector components (A). Seen vertically, at least one interceptor is fitted between the components (A). This is spaced away from the confining wall. A column separating mixtures of substances contains at least one packed bed of ordered and/or disordered partition components and at least one liquid collector as described in the foregoing. At least one packed bed of the column is reactive in the sense that it enables reaction or influences the progress of chemical reactions of components in the mixture. The column includes at least one vertical partition wall. It includes at least one component (A) and/or an interceptor of a liquid collector in part of a column confined or not confined by a partition wall. A method of separating one or more components employs a column as described. From the column, a high purity product is recovered as either a side-stream or a sump offtake. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding separation method.</p>
