Process and device for improving the quality of Fat- or oil-Containing plant raw Materials (FCM), or their residues, intended as foods or feeds. By thermal treatment in the presence of water or steam in a continuous process the material is introduced in a first step with a temperature of approximately 100 DEG C into a pressure treatment chamber (4) and remains there for approximately 3.5 to 10 minutes at max. temperatures of 135 DEG C and a max. pressure of 5 bar. In a second treatment chamber (8) the material is reduced in pressure to 0.1 to 1.0 bar and is removed from there after a residence time of approximately 30 seconds at a temperature of less than 100 DEG C. <IMAGE> |
