The twin spreader is used for accommodating containers of different lengths or two short containers. It has a box-shaped central mount (12) with a suspension apparatus (14) for connection to a crane or the like and telescopic bars, of which the end bars (20) each have a top crosspiece (22) running transversely with respect to the extension direction with twistlocks (24). The invention provides that the end bars (20) are connected to one another by the top crosspieces (22) by means of bolts (34).
