<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicament inspection apparatus and an image processing method which can restrict influence of halation in image recognition and accurately recognize medicament information included in an image of a medicament. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes an image pickup means 11 for imaging an appearance of packaging containing a medicament and an image processing means 21 for processing the obtained medicament image and detects medicament recognition information included in the image. The image processing means 21 executes image correction processing S10 which creates a histogram of pixel values based on pixel values of a plurality of pixels configuring the medicament image, lets a pixel value near the bottom of a valley region C formed between a halation distribution B and a distribution A adjacent to the distribution B in the histogram be a bottom value X, and forms a processed image where a processed pixel value derived by multiplying the pixel value of each pixel constituting the medicament image by the maximum pixel value and dividing it by the bottom value X is the pixel value of each pixel; and recognition information detection processing S20 which detects the medicament recognition information from the processed image processed by the image correction processing S10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
