<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian protection device for a vehicle capable of surely enhancing the protection performance for a pedestrian. <P>SOLUTION: In this pedestrian protection device 1, a lid 3 is opened to a hood 20 of the vehicle 2 side on a rear side of the hood 20 to deploy an air bag 11. A reinforcing frame 23 (deformation prevention means) for preventing deformation of a rear end part front part 20b of the hood 20 is provided at a rear end part 20a of the hood 20. In the pedestrian protection device 1, deformation of the rear end part front 20b of the hood 20 is prevented by the reinforcing frame 23, and thereby a prescribed deformation stroke is secured at a degree by which collision energy can be sufficiently absorbed by the rear end part front 20b of the hood 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
