PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open shield method which enables a jack balance to be maintained on the right and left sides of an open shield machine on a curved construction site, which hardly causes rolling, pitching, etc., and which enables smooth curve construction by facilitating the control of the jacking speed of the open shield machine. SOLUTION: In this open shield method, hydraulic driving systems, which are connected to a plurality of shield jacks disposed in column on the right and left sides of the open shield machine, are independently and separately provided on the right and left sides.
