摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing oxide-coated copper particulates having excellent oxidation resistance as metal particulates for pigment, and, meanwhile, exhibiting the design properties of copper such as metallic luster. SOLUTION: The method for producing oxide-coated copper particulates includes the following stages (A) to (C): the stage (A) wherein an aqueous solution including an aluminum salt and urea is fed into an aqueous suspension including copper particulates, so as to form copper particulates having a coating layer (c) composed of a hydroxide essentially consisting of an aluminum hydroxide by a coating amount satisfying the following requirements: the coating amount is controlled in such a manner that the value obtained by dividing the compositional ratio of the content of aluminum to the content of copper in the oxide-coated copper particulates by the specific surface area of the core particles reaches 0.2 to 1.2 [mass%/(m<SP>2</SP>*g<SP>-1</SP>)]; the stage (B) wherein the copper particulate having the coating layer (c) is subjected to solid-liquid separation, and is subjected to drying treatment; and the stage (C) wherein the copper particulates after the drying treatment are subjected to heating treatment at 180 to 330°C in a reducing atmosphere, so as to thermally decompose the coating layer (c).
