<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display more detailed print status of an electronic document having a tree structure. <P>SOLUTION: A data processor has: a layout processing means for receiving electronic document data which are stored in a spool file and has a tree structure as an input, copying and adding pages in accordance with designated print setting, and outputting the electronic document data; a print command conversion means for converting the electronic document data to be output by the layout processing means into a print command interpretable by the printer and adding information on the tree structure of the electronic document data to the print command; a data communication processing means having a function to transmit the print command output by the print command conversion means to the printer and a function to acquire print status from the printer; and a print status display means for displaying information on a page being printed by using the print status acquired by the data communication processing means and the information on the tree structure included in the electronic document data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
